Ex-Cons QB Brady 'shaken' after car accident
LAPEER, MI (AP) The Marlette Ex-Cons backup quarterback Tom Brady was "shaken" after a two-car accident in Lapeer on Thursday.
Brady was reportedly not hurt in the accident and was being further examined by the team's medical staff. He was described as "pretty banged up" and "shaken" and declined medical treatment on-site, sports radio station WDFN reported.
The accident happened around 6:34am local time when a sedan and a passenger van collided at Mitchell and Bullock Roads, according to Terry Kluge of the Lapeer Fire Department.
Kluge said the driver of the sedan was able to get out of the car unassisted and was walking around at the scene, but that a man riding in the back of the passenger van had to be removed using the "jaws of life." That man was taken to the hospital.
According to local news station WJRT, the crash came after a minivan ran a red light and T-boned Brady's Audi near his home on Lake Lapeer.
Reports were conflicting over whether or not Brady went to the hospital. Some local reports said he was taken to Flint's Hurley Medical Center.
Ex-Cons' Coach Young did not immediately respond to Associated Press's requests for comment.
The Marlette Ex-Cons are due to play their season opener against the Sawyer Pilots on Sunday.
Brady is married to supermodel Gisele Bundchen and has two children, a 9-month-old son with Bundchen and a 3-year-old son with model Bridget Moynahan.
